Progression

I think I've worked well when it comes to pre-production and planning. I enjoy researching topics and gathering information, as well as creating storyboards and working in groups to do so. However, I could get better at making shot lists, I much prefer story boards as it gives me a visualisation for the framing and camera movements. I prefer to just use the storyboard to take the shots in whatever order appropriate instead of writing it all out again into a list, it feels unnecessary and time consuming.

I have only used storyboards up until this point in the course.

I enjoy production and practical work. I work the best when creating designs for print media, like posters, magazines, adverts, etc. I also like filming, I think I'm decent at it especially with previous knowledge of photography and framing. If filming something in a group, I do not shy away from the camera and prefer to be on video if anything. I think I work well enough in a group though my absences mean I'm missing form a portion of my group's work. Photography is my preferred medium and enjoy doing it in my own time, as well as for assets for an edit.

Post production and editing is probably my favourite stage of media production. I've been working with Adobe Photoshop for almost 4 years know and understand enough to get by. I'm able to create short sequences and do minimal editing on Premier pro.

Overall I think I work well alone and in groups. My skills are best displayed when working with Photoshop, photography and graphic design. However, I need to improve my attendance so that I'm not missing work and am able to participate in group work.

Job Roles

- Post production Colourist - this is the person that does the colour grading after the raw footage for a film is shot. i think if be good at this because I understand the importance of colour and would find it interesting to play with the mood of a film until I got it right.

- Prop maker - this is the person that designs and creates props for tv and film. I think i'd be good at this because I really enjoyed making that wine bottle for the Halloween advert and got it done pretty fast. I also like to make physical things that I can hold as apposed to purely digital media.

- Post production Runner - These are the temps of the Post production world. Id enjoy doing this because I don't like having a lot of responsibility in case I mess up (I do often) and find fulfilment in menial and tedious tasks, like naming folders or organising things.
