Weekly Reflections

03/03/25 -

When reviewing my proposal and considering the amount of time I would spend on all the different aspects of the campaign, I decided to go forward doing just the print advertisements and short video advert. I will still aim to implement old design elements for websites and browsers from the time, but I don't have the motivation of time management to attempt making 2 FMP's in one, I'll get a higher grade if I focus all my attention of the ads. 

10/03/25 -

Last week I completed research and analysis of the conventions for non-profit print advertisements, researched internet culture and conducted Surveys in order to gauge the success of the campaign as well as one for the audience I'm most likely to attract. I've found that a Gen Z audience is most likely to understand the references the ads will make as well as most likely to donate to an organisation who's aim to preserve content uploaded to the internet.

Last week I conducted more research into 2010s internet culture and what to reference to my target audience, as well as research into reasons why the fictional Web preservation Society would exist. I've looked at examples of media that was once widely popular and is now less/inaccessible. 

24/03/25 -

Last week i created some basic mock-ups for the print advertisements and started storyboarding my video advertisement after watching other non-profit video advertisements. i also completed some technical research such as playing with text on photoshop, creating different sized canvases on photoshop, and exercising skills in premier pro. 

31/03/25 -

07/04/25 -

Last week I continued my evaluations of video advertisements for non profit causes, considering codes and conventions. I visited my filming location and took some photos so that I could properly plan out my shots and the camera's orientation. I realised that my first storyboard wasn't as simple as I first thought due to issues with the location and people's availability, so I had to draft another storyboard that kept the same general idea but involved less people and a slightly different location. 

22/04/25 -

the last week I was in, I re-visited some of my research and refined it since I dint get the chance to do everything I needed to before moving onto production. over the week off I filmed the footage and created assets to use in my video advert, I also photographed images for my print adverts. 

28/04/25 -

Last week I began production on my print and video advertisements. I almost completed my print adverts, gaining feedback and improving them as the week progressed. I was missing some footage for the video ad and unfortunately, Carole (my actor) wasn't available to film, so I had to record new footage separately. 

06/05/25 -

Last week I chose a song for my video ad, and created a logo with different versions to gain feedback on (for print and video.)

12/05/25 -

Last week I started my final fmp evaluation/self assessment, I aim to finish it this week. I also finalised my video advert and uploaded my final products to a personal one drive for my tutor to access. 

19/05/25 -

Last week I finished my evaluation and uploaded it to my wix. this week I'm going to review my wix and see if anything needs adding/improving/removing.
