Target Audience

The demographic I'm aiming to get the attention of/target my ads towards is people born between the early 90's and early 2000's. These are the people who would've been growing up around the 2010s internet and have positive memories of being online as a kid.

The internet went through many stages of evolution from the 2000's through the 2010's, including the development of viral videos, challenges, memes, flash games and more. this is what I'm aiming to use as nostalgia bait in order to get people to donate. I'm afraid people that are too young or too old may not get the reference, thus becoming uninterested in the society's cause.

Although not every young person born in that time has invested interest in the internet and its culture, I believe that most have been somewhat exposed to it by choice or not.

Audience Survey

I created a survey in order to test my hypothesis that people born between the 90s and 2010s are more likely to understand internet culture and have fond childhood memories with it.

Coolmathsgames.com is home to a variety of popular online games, like papas pizzeria or Run. Arguably better known than friv.

The results of this survey have shown me that I'm aiming for an audience of Gen Z primarily. I also learnt that people within that bracket are more likely to understand references to popular things from around 2010, not that they don't get things from earlier. There are also certain events and online phenomena that breach the confines of the internet and make international news. in these cases, people that are older are usually made at least partially aware of the situation/joke.
