Although I did get about 15 seconds animated with krita, I've decided to move to premier pro and simplify it. unfortunately a lot of the quality and expectations I have for my project will not hold up, but that is the sacrifice I have to make in order to have a finished product by submission.

I've kept the parts I already illustrated and imported them to premier with a cut down version of the dialogue. its now only about 1 minute 50 sec. - compared to the nearly 3 minutes it was before. this makes my project feel a lot more manageable.

I Drew the majority of the frames on FireAlpaca, my preferred drawing software. on days this wasn't available to me I drew frames on MSPaint.

Once I had a frame, I dragged it into premier pro and lined it up with the audio,

I had to re-scale all of my frames since they were too large for the aspect ration in premier. to do this, I went to effect controls, scale and changed it to 17 or 16.7, the size that allowed you to see the most of the image.

I wanted an establishing shot that showed the outside of the petrol station, to establish that this is a night shift, and to foreshadow the aliens. this is especially important since I had to cut a good chunk of audio out in order to shorten my projects length, which in turn left out a lot of needed context (like why ben thinks its aliens etc..)

here is what I came up with:

To achieve this I drew a background, then on another layer drew a UFO. Then, while screen-recording with OBS, I dragged the UFO across the screen, making it look like its flying overhead.

unfortunately this method left a visible box around the UFO but its not super noticeable and at this point i'm working against time so I literally don't have time spare to fix it.
