Media theories explain how and why people consume media. In order to create an effective product you have to appeal to an audience and consider how that audience might interact with your product.
How could you use structuralist theories in your FMP?
Understanding structuralist theories will allow me to do better analysis of similar products. structuralism is especially relevant to my fmp since I need to create a show for my DVD and poster. In order to create a believable narrative that will appeal to my target audience, ill look at character and story types as well as different codes.
How could understanding marketing techniques help your FMP?
This might be useful for my fmp because, again, to create an effective product is to create a popular product. not only is my fmp promotional material, which inherently utilizes marketing techniques, but you need to consider how poeple will know about your product and how it will be promoted beyond the product itself.
