What happened to Cartoon Network?Miles Roberts

Above is my finalised podcast episode. I aimed to create a laid-back yet informative solo-commentary piece on cartoon network's history. to achieve this I've employed codes and conventions - such as archive audio (Johnny Bravo quote),call to action, background music etc. I decided to chose upbeat, lyric-less music in order to keep the listener engaged as well as add a light hearted tone to the audio. getting the music the right volume was a lot of trial and error, but I got there eventually, making it just quiet enough that its not overbearing, but loud enough to have an audible impact.
when researching CN's history, I watched a few YouTube videos of people detailing it's past. the youtubers who make these videos are usually cartoon/animation enthusiasts or media analysis people, and I feel like they have a way of keeping the viewer engaged. I definitely edited the podcast more in line with the kind of audio you'd find in one of those videos due to personal preference. I tried to have a relaxed mode of address, and you can definitely feel that at points, but when writing the script, I switched into essay writing mode and included a lot of technical jargon and big words. this makes it feel much more serious than I would've wanted, though I think the music lightens it up somewhat. I also feel like I should've added more details so the listener has a greater understanding.
when I listened to the bear brook and no such thing as a fish podcasts, the way they used music bothered me, so I tried to edit my music differently to them and essentially always have background music. I like background music and think it helps me focus, so hopefully it does the same for the audience.
If I was to make another episode, id probably record on a better mic and not rush the talking as much, since I feel like at points I'm speeding through the script and it gets hard to follow. id also make sure its more podcast-y, since I accidentally made a video-less YouTube essay.
I enjoyed the podcast creation process overall, though the editing was tedious. best part of the podcast thing is the fact I get to make it a website, I enjoy that kind of thing much more.
