BRAKETECH

BrakeTech is an independent business ran by Richard Roberts, providing a mobile mechanic service to the local area. They pride themselves on their efficiency, friendly demeanour and convenience.

BrakeTech operates primarily out of Richard's van - since he is a mobile mechanic without any physical garage or office. They do have a website, see here. People can book appointments through the website, through an email or a phone call. Richard will visit them, review what is wrong with the car, buy the parts and service it - all from the comfort of the clients' home.

Most people that would opt for a mobile service as opposed to driving their car into a garage are on the older side, people that can't leave the house as easily and are unable to leave their car at a garage for a prolonged time. Richard gets a lot of business from middle aged people, around 35-50. Now, I would say there's an untapped pensioner audience there, but considering that on average, most Brits stop driving ~ 75, advertising to an audience 75 and above wouldn't be helpful.

BrakeTech is located here, at 167 Scobell street, Tottington, and he operates locally. My relation to this company is that Richard is my father - it was either this or Horse Reiki.

I could make them some posters, a social media advertisement, leaflets/pamphlets or new photos for their website.

BrakeTech has had leaflets made before but never a poster/larger print advertisements, so I think ill make them various print ads, more specifically leaflets and posters. I'm making posters I'll have to conduct a photoshoot. if the pictures are nice, he could use some of them for his website.

EQUINE ZEN REIKI

A back-up option I have is Equine Zen Reiki. Abbreviated to EZR, it's an independent business ran by Nicola Roberts, which performs holistic therapy and massage for mainly horses, but people too.

Equine Zen Reiki operates primarily out of Nicola's home/local stables, though she does travel to different stables in order to treat certain horses. she has a social media presence which people can contact her through, as well as a website, email and work number.

The kind of people that would hire Nicola are usually middle aged women who own horses and have a good amount of disposable income. This is reflected in her reviews which are all from women.

Equine Zen Reiki is located here, at 167 Scobell street, Tottington, and my relation to them is Nicola is my Mother.

PS, her horse is called Zeus ^^

I already designed her logo and business cards (see above), as well as taking photos for promo material and her website.

LEAFLET ANALYSIS

In order to create a successful promotional leaflet for Braketech, I'm looking at examples of leaflets used by other auto repair businesses. I still need to conduct a photoshoot but I know the image should take up a smaller section of the screen than it would for a poster. I'm going to aim to use primarily red black and white/grey since these are the main colours in the Braketech logo.

Small main image, usually takes up about 1/3 of the page

list of what services the company provides

Call to action and contact details, as well as further information. small but noticeable.

some sort of promotional offer to insight buisness

stick to 3 bold colours, make it eye-catching but also Braketech related

FURTHER REASERCH

From looking through Braketech's website I've gathered that they offer mobile tire fittings, replacement batteries, battery checks and battery fittings, suspension repairs, interim and full servicing, locking wheelnut removal and all things brakes. they specialize in breaks hence the name. obviously the main factor of their business is the mobile aspect, so I'm going to need to make sure that's advertised on the leaflet.

i spoke to Richard to confirm what services he offers and the times hes available. i also enquired about any deals he may be willing to offer, since i wanted to put one on the leaflet as an incentive for people to use his services. he said he doesn't normally do discounts or offers, but i asked for an example anyway so i could compare how it looks with and without. ill ask him for a final opinion once i have a finished draft and if its not for him ill remove it, i don't want to give the wrong impression about his business.

PHOTOSHOOT

i conducted a small photoshoot in order to gain material to create the leaflet. i took pictures of Richard in the Braketech uniform, some portrait and some including his van.

I think the portrait pictures are the best out of what i got, they're what i'll probably end up using.

PRODUCTION

Unfortunately I don't have access to photoshop at home, and I refuse to use photopea, so I did some of the production on IBISX Paint.

i also encountered an issue with my pictures. when trying to scale a portrait image to fit in the grey box, it cuts off a lot of the image. same with the landscape ones. I've decided its probably easier to cut Richard out and stick him on top like this leaflet that i looked at.
